Women’s Sumo

After watching “Little Miss Sumo” , I was fascinated to see all of the hard work the athletes put in. I feel that the reason that women’s sumo is not as popular as other women’s sports is due to Japan’s traditional ideas around sumo. I think that the globalization of sumo will give women’s sumo a strong chance at having the same opportunities as men’s sumo. In Missouri, women’s wrestling was just introduced at the high school level. If other states continue to follow this, I believe that women’s wrestling in all forms will be able to have the same opportunities as men.
